FA Cup Tie Previewed.....
The Redditch Adveriser previews the Preliminary Round tie...
Alvechurch joint boss Jamie McWilliams will be back from suspension for the FA Cup preliminary round game at Kidsgrove Athletic on Saturday (3pm).
McWilliams will have completed a six game ban held over from last season when he was sent off.
Alvechurch will need some inspiration against their hosts, who play one level above them in the Unibond South. They find themselves fourth bottom of the Midland Alliance after a 7-0 thrashing at home to Barwell. It followed a 2-0 home defeat to Causeway United, and Alvechurch have three points from four games.
McWilliams said: “There isn’t much good news about at the moment but we will go to Kidsgrove and give it a go. "
“One thing’s for sure we have to improve 100-per-cent on the Barwell game to get anything out of it. "
“They were a good team but it didn’t excuse the way we played."

'Church boss looks forward to the new season.............
Alvechurch joint manager Simon Redhead speaks to the Redditch Advertiser with confidence about the new season:
Redhead said: “We are looking to add a few more to the squad before the season starts and are having a look at ten trialists over the coming weeks as well who will play a big part in pre-season.”
“It is vital we get off to a good start and then, hopefully, maintain it because last season we were doing well until January or February and then fell away a bit.
“We want to avoid that this time and hit the ground running.”
The Advertiser adds:
With only one team going up from the Midland Alliance each season, Redhead recognises it is very important to start well.
He has added Brendan Kelly , a left back from Willenhall and Matty Robinson, a centre forward from Coleshill to last season’s squad.
The only player to leave is midfielder Josh McKenzie who has made the step up to join Bromsgrove Rovers.
